Open Wheel Racing League

The Open Wheel Racing League is dedicated to bring the best open wheel racing in Live For Speed. On this page, we'll give you more info about us. To participate in the OWRL, you must have a LFS S2 License. Your speed isn't important to us, but you should be able to hold your car on the track and not to hind the other drivers.

History

The league was founded in January 2004 under the name 'Lost Boys Racing League'. LFS was still in its S1 stage and no formula cars had been added to the racing sim. As there was no real league for the MRT5, we thought it was time to close this gap. After three successful seasons using the MRT5, S2 was finally released and we switched to the formula cars. The organizing team then changed to K2 and later on to pod.
In 2006 a new LFS-patch added the BMW Sauber F1.06, which brought a new challenge to the OWRL. A similar thing happened one year later when the Formula BMW was added.

That is the way from the 'Lost Boys Racing League' to the today known Open Wheel Racing League.

Races

We race once every two weeks on Saturdays, 20:00 CET, summertime when applicable. If you are unsure about the time zones, please compare your time to the current German time. All events start with qualifying, which is 15 minutes. This decides the starting order for the race. The exact length of the race can differ from season to season and will be posted on the season info page (F1 | Div A/B) . The full event will take about 1,5 hours to complete. This may be split up in one or more races.

Join the OWRL!

Before signing up, please read the Rules. If you can agree with them, you can simply fill in the signup form to join. After that, you still have to register for the races you want to join. You can do this by checking the upcoming events and answer the 'take part'-question with "yes" or "no".
Signup deadline is 3 hours before the qualifying starts (at 17:00 CET).

After that, we make the server grids dependent on your hotlap / online pb, whichever is fastest. If there is no time visible at this moment, we can not allow you to take part. At about 18:00 CET all important informations to take part at the race will be posted on our forum.
